Human Rights Global House

Promoting and defending Human Rights

In 2023, Human Rights Global House launched a  Project as a  practical and effective way to connect the international community that promotes and defends human rights under the framework of democracy, using diplomacy as its key instrument.

To collaborate and share the work, experiences, lessons, and the most effective tools to make the dream of a more just world a reality, from international organizations, civil society, governments, Universities, Think Tanks and businesses to design and implement actions, regulations, and policies aimed at fostering a more democratic, just, and rights-compliant world.

The HRGH: Paths of Culture and Human Rights from Cantabria to Oaxaca

These projects aim to connect culture, history, and human rights, fostering a deeper understanding of global heritage and its role in promoting peace. By combining European traditions like the Camino Lebaniego with Indigenous initiatives in Oaxaca, we create spaces for dialogue, artistic expression, and collaboration. Together, they highlight the importance of cultural diversity in building a more just and inclusive world.

European Cultural Paths in Cantabria: Human Rights, Music, History, and Art

While less renowned than the Camino de Santiago, the “Camino Lebaniego,” which begins in San Vicente de la Barquera and concludes at the Monastery of Santo Toribio in Potes, Cantabria, is a route where nature, history, and culture seamlessly merge. Human Rights Global House seeks to connect this historical path with the concept of a culture of peace that naturally aligns with human rights.

The project includes the organization of three concerts in chapels along the Camino Lebaniego. These performances will revolve around the figure of Frederick II, with artistic direction by Sebastien Benoit, Director of Compagnie des Regains.

In collaboration with Fundación SM México and Indigenous Communities from various municipalities in Oaxaca, Mexico (in accordance with their traditional Usos y Costumbres), Human Rights Global House is establishing Yoho Laui (Zapotec for “Common Community House”).

This initiative aligns with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 17, fostering partnerships to promote and raise awareness about human rights. It reflects our commitment to creating spaces of dialogue, peace, and collaboration within Indigenous communities, honoring their cultural traditions while addressing contemporary challenges.
