D.Institute 2025 Annual Report

The D Institute will develop its own index and analysis of the state of Human Rights and Democracy, examining their interconnectedness. It will begin by covering specific regions while maintaining a global perspective. The results will be publicly presented each December, starting with an in-depth review of a particular country.

While the past four decades have witnessed a notable expansion of development, it is unclear to what extent this has translated into better and more effective implementation of human rights and democracy. Democratic erosion, and the disenchantment that has manifested in some segments of society, is occurring in different contexts and scenarios, eroding the application of human rights.

The Global State of Human Rights and Democracy Index aims to provide analysis, data, and information, identifying future trends to develop programs and policies for more effective implementation of human rights within democracy. These efforts will be carried out by multilateral organizations, national governments, and civil society.
